"Salt drawing: two bodies" |
|
|
| When you see Fiona Wright's "Salt drawing:
two bodies" at the Serralves Auditorium in Porto, don't
be surprised if there aren't a lot of people about. This new
solo performance, part of the dance and music cycle the 'Meninas',
is designed for an audience of just one person at a time and
is only a few minutes long!
Fiona Wright has been giving mostly live, solo performances
since the late 1980s, extensively touring the UK and abroad.
Her most recent work has been performed in intimate venues
for small audiences, driven by her fascination with the
solitary figure and the uncertainty and accidental intimacy
that a lone meeting can generate with the public.
Subversive and rare are just two words which have been used
to describe this unusual work where images of control and
strength rub shoulders with moments of fragility.
